This series of photographs display the process of making an artwork from the beginning till the end. A show of busy hands detailing and perfecting craft. I was intrigued by the messy environment and constant pattern going back and forth between tools and images to create a single piece of work. I tried to capture the main steps in forming the piece by the crafters hand.

1- Early mornings begin with a game of Sims for roommate.

2- If you walk into the living room mid-day, you can find her taking a nap. How else can one pass a day full of nothing to do?

3- At a time like this, not burning her food counts as an achievement.

4- Post lunch means cleaning duty in this house. Cloths dipped in bleach.

5- Throughly vacuuming last night’s mess.

6- Even dusting the window becomes dramatic when you can’t go outside.

7- Good work is rewarded by quiet reading time.

8- Followed by working on a sculpture project

9- Today’s idea is to add a hand

10- Time of the day can be measured by her cigarette buds in this house. It’s clearly late.

11- Before sleep, she attempts to pack her life in a bag for an upcoming trip home.

12- Bed time drags a fight in the bathroom. Who’s gonna brush their teeth first?

13- Late nights end in a surf on the instagram.

I’ve been at a loss of focus for being home this long, almost battling a feeling of claustrophobia. I decide to turn off my phone for good and gather all the things that have been keeping me awake at night. In front of me lies a senseless puzzle of self identity. at last I see that what makes me uncomfortable isn’t this place or the distractions, it’s my inability to accept what i cannot control

Aynı zemin ve benzer ışıklar kullanmış olmana rağmen farklı kareler (3 ve 4 hariç) ortaya çıkmış. Teknik bir-iki uyarı: İlk karede alttaki portakal sınıra çok yaklaşmış. Biraz daha içeride olmalıydı. Dördüncü kare gibi çekimlerde iki şey uygularız genelde. Ya kürdanı sonradan sileriz ya da kürdanı siyaha boyar (siyah başka birşey kullanır) ve arkasına aynı tonda siyah zemin denk getiririz. Eğer bunu bir editör seçseydi ya 3 ve 4’ten birini seçerdi. Çünkü bu haliyle her ikisi de aynı şeyi anlatıyor.

Yue Minjun’un iç gıcıklayıcı çizimleri tam da bu parçayı ifade ediyor. Fotoğrafların günlük hayattan seçilmeleri ve doğal olmaları hoşuma gitti. Farklı aksiyonlar ama bir şekilde aynı duygu da birleşiyorlar. No Escape için de benzer ifadeler kullanabilirim. Daha uçtalar ama müzikte birleşiyorlar. Her ikisinde de bu yazdıklarım fotoğrafların hem duygusu hem de kompozisyon, ışık-gölge kullanımı, rengi vb için geçerli. Bolero’da ise tek eksik fotoğraflardaki ritim. O da olsaymış tam olurmuş.
